A Mix-Up at the Pharmacy

Reading Passage

Omar had a bad cough, so his doctor gave him a prescription. After work, he went to the pharmacy near his apartment. "Hi, I'm here to pick up a prescription," he said to the pharmacist. "My name is Omar Haddad." The pharmacist checked the computer and gave him a small white bag. "Here you go. Take one tablet twice a day with food," she said. At home, Omar opened the bag. The name on the box was "Omar Hadi", not "Omar Haddad". The medicine was also different from what the doctor said. Omar didn't take the tablets. He called the pharmacy right away. "I think I have the wrong medicine," he said. "The name on the box isn't my name." The pharmacist was very sorry. "Please bring it back. We'll fix it immediately," she said. Twenty minutes later, Omar had the right medicine. The pharmacist also gave him a free bottle of cough syrup. "Thank you for checking," she said. "You did the right thing."
