1Our goal
We want everyone to be able to use mashaenglish.com and the MashaEnglish app, including people who use a keyboard instead of a mouse, a screen reader, zoom or larger text. We use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, level AA, as our guide. MashaEnglish is run by one teacher, and the site has not had an independent accessibility audit, so we do not claim full conformance.
2What we do
- Readable text sizes and strong colour contrast on our main pages; pages work when you zoom in.
- Visible focus outlines, so you can see where you are when you use the keyboard.
- Text labels for icon buttons and links (for example the menu, search and social media icons).
- Large tap targets in the menu for phones.
- Animations are reduced when your device asks for reduced motion.
- Policies and lesson rules are written in plain English.
3What is not perfect yet
- Some games, timed exercises and older practice pages may be hard to use with a screen reader or with a keyboard only.
- Some videos and audio exercises may not have captions or a transcript yet.
- AI voice practice needs a microphone and speech; text practice is available as an alternative.
We fix these step by step, starting with the pages people use most.
4Ask for help or another format
If something does not work for you, or you need a lesson material, a policy or a transcript in another format, email hello@mashaenglish.com or use the contact form (topic “Technical problem”). Tell us the page and what happened. We reply within the business week and look for a way to help.
