Task 1: Giving Advice
30 s to prepare, 90 s to speak
Talk to the person and give useful advice with reasons.
Choose one task or do all eight in order. Every time you start, you get a new practice question, a timer for preparing and speaking, and a short self-check after your answer. You can record yourself and listen back: the recording stays on your device and nothing is uploaded.

No. The recording stays in your browser on your own device, so you can listen to it right after you speak. Nothing is uploaded or saved on our server, and the recording disappears when you leave or reload the page. The browser asks for your microphone only when you tap “Record my answer”, and you can practise without recording.
No. They are original practice questions written for this page, in the same format and with the same times as the real Speaking test. Each time you start a task, you get a different question. To practise with the official test screens, also try the free practice tests on celpip.ca.
After every answer you see a short checklist for that task, based on the four areas raters listen for: Content/Coherence, Vocabulary, Listenability and Task Fulfillment. Listen to your recording, tick what you did and compare it with the sample answers for that task.
